Important Update to Walk-in Centre Opening Hours and Service Changes Effective from 14 April 2025.
The Walk-in Centre’s opening hours will be changing; the new opening hours will be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (previously 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM). Although the service is reducing by two hours per day, it will still be open every day as usual.
As part of the ongoing changes, the service will also be transitioning to a Nurse-Led Service over the next three months. During this time, a doctor will remain on site for parts of the day, but once the service moves to a Nurse-Led Service (likely from 14 July 2025) there will be no GP provision available at the Walk-in Centre.
As a result of these changes, there is an important message for parents and guardians of children aged under 2 years. Please note that from 14 April 2025, the Walk-in Centre will no longer be able see and treat any children aged under 2 years. Instead, they will need to visit their GP, A&E, or Out of Hours services for care.
Due to ongoing financial challenges, the NHS is facing significant pressure, and services are being required to operate with less funding. These changes are intended to ensure the service can continue providing safe and high-quality care within the financial limits allocated. Additionally, please note that the Walk-in Centre service is currently part of a public consultation led by the ICB.
The Walk-in Centre would like to thank you for your understanding and continued support.
